Our story unfolds
An inspiration "Tellus Mater"
The ancient wisdom of Tellus Mater, the Roman goddess of Mother Earth. As the divine embodiment of nature’s abundance, Tellus Mater was revered for her role in fertility, renewal, and sustenance. She was honored in rituals that ensured agricultural prosperity, and her connection to the earth was seen as a promise of balance and resilience. The name Tellura Technologies is our homage to this sacred force—a reflection of our commitment to protecting and nurturing the planet through innovation and sustainable materials.
Much like the festivals and offerings dedicated to Tellus Mater, which sought harmony between human civilization and the natural world, Tellura Technologies embraces the philosophy of renewal and responsible stewardship. We believe that materials should not only serve human needs but also respect and sustain the environment. This vision is embodied in our Abaca Biocomposite, a groundbreaking material derived from the resilient fibers of the Musa textilis plant, reinforced with an epoxidized vegetable oil matrix resin. This combination offers a sustainable alternative to conventional composites, reducing reliance on synthetic and petroleum-based materials.
In ancient Rome, Tellus Mater was invoked during times of upheaval, standing as a protector against the forces of nature. Today, as industries seek eco-conscious solutions to environmental challenges, Tellura Technologies rises to meet this need, offering an innovative path forward in architecture, transportation, sports, telecommunications, and so on. Our materials are designed to not only perform but also decompose naturally, leaving a minimal footprint—aligning with the circular economy principles of regeneration and waste reduction.
By choosing Tellura, you are choosing more than just a material—you are choosing a legacy of sustainability, resilience, and reverence for the Earth. Together, we build a future where high-performance materials coexist with environmental responsibility, honoring the spirit of Tellus Mater in every fiber of our work.

A photo taken from the Ara Pacis Augustae (Altar of Augustan Peace), 9 B.C.E. (Ara Pacis Museum, Rome, Italy). The sculpture appears on the front and back of the altar and some art historians believe that the figure in the center represents Tellus Mater with on either side sitting two mithological figures representing winds of the earth (left) and winds of the sea (right), with the sculpture giving a sense of harmony of peace and fertility. Our Story
Tellura Technologies was born from a shared vision and relentless dedication. It all started with our founder during his Ph.D. course. While pursuing his doctorate, he became passionate about sustainable materials and embarked on a parallel scientific project—designing a biocomposite that could bridge the gap between high-performance engineering and environmental responsibility.
Understanding the need for collaboration, he built a network of scientific and industry partners and secured generous contributions from Ecopoxy and Bananatex, who kindly donated raw materials, and Alltec Composites Ltda., which provided guidance in the manufacturing field. Leveraging the resources available at his research institute, he developed and tested the material, ultimately publishing two scientific articles to share his findings with the global community.
As the project evolved, the founder realized that turning his innovation into a real business required strategic expertise. He turned to his best friend, whose experience in business and entrepreneurship was the perfect complement to his technical background. Together, they dedicated their free time—working late nights, weekends, and every spare moment—to transforming their vision into a company.
What started as an ambitious research project has now become Tellura Technologies, a company driven by science, sustainability, and the belief that natural materials can redefine industries.
